About Philippe Gonet
Champagne Philippe Gonet was established in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in 1830. It is located next to the famous brand "Champagne Salon", and just a few steps away from the famous vineyard 【Clos du Mesnil】of "Champagne Krug". The estate currently has 23 hectares, separated into nearly 50 different vineyards, is based on Chardonnay grapes, so 19 hectares are planted with Chardonnay grapes, and most of them are in Champagne-【Le Mesnil-sur-Oger】. Most soil in the vineyards is from the Cretaceous period, is formed by alluvial seawater, and is rich in marine fossils. The average age of the grapes is 40 years old. Among them, there are vines planted in 1929, nearly 90 years old.
Two hundred years of history, inherited by brothers and sisters
In 1990, after their father passed away, brothers and sisters Pierre and Chantal who respectively were only 22 and 23-year-old, taken over this nearly 200-year-old, this winery is the seventh generation. Pierre is the winemaker of the winery, and Chantal is in charge of marketing, promoting family champagne all over the world. The brothers and sisters support each other, and the creativity of young people is different from other standardized traditional champagne wineries. The characters of wine in this winery are special styles and creativity.
